Welcome to 2012. 

Usually, I’m not much for making resolutions or waxing poetic about how much better the new year is going to be than the old one.  This year, however, I found myself thinking about all of the things that 2012 will bring and getting so excited for it to begin.  Maybe it has to do with the fact that I get my husband back from Afghanistan in a few weeks after nearly a year apart.  I can’t help but feel butterflies in my stomach when I let my mind think about him here and what that means.  I’ll have my partner back!  It is going to be so much fun to have a husband again...and I can’t even list the ways that it is going to make Hunter happy--there are just too many. 

Last year I never picked a one-little-word word.  This year I can’t stop hearing the word more.  Not “more” as in, more stuff or more money.  More as in being more deliberate, being more thoughtful, reading more good books, listening to more good music, doing more things that I love and less things that I don’t, spending more time with the ones I love, eating more good food, cooking more, running more...you get the idea.  So many times in 2011 I found myself just getting by, powering through the days and not really making sure that I lived each one to the fullest.  Don’t get me wrong, Hunter and I did a lot in 2011.  If you don’t believe me you can scroll through my iphotos folder and see for yourself.  It’s just the time in between the time we were doing things that I feel like I let slip away.  This year I want to do more and be more and think more and feel more.  More.
